A huge congratulations to Tracey!
This month Tracey and her partner Charlie attended a graduation ceremony and morning tea at Government House to celebrate her completion of a Certificate IV in Community Studies! Tracy is a mother of 11 and full-time carer to two of her grandchildren, and they reached out to Dress for Success Adelaide for support to obtain formalwear for this exciting occasion. We styled Tracey for the graduation, providing her with confidence-filled formal wear, while her partner was able to receive a matching Suit through men’s service Geared for Success.
Tracey and Charlie have been together for 21 years, with Charlie being Tracey’s number 1 supporter. He has paved the way for Tracey’s studying success, picking up additional household responsibilities so that she can focus on her study. Charlie told us that he is so proud of his partner and how hard she has worked. Prior to the styling he requested that we work closely with the Geared for Success team to match his clothing with what Tracey was wearing as he wanted everyone to know he was there by her side.
The styling session at Hindmarsh was filled with positivity, with Charlie becoming overjoyed and emotional at the sight of Tracey all dressed up as a result of her incredible achievement. The Dress for Success Adelaide team is truly happy and grateful to have dressed such an amazing and inspiring couple. As a result of her study Tracey was nominated for the SA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year 2024!
Tracey and Charlie attended the 2024 South Australian Training Awards on the 25th of September, both attending looking more glamorous than ever. Unfortunately Tracey did not receive an award, however this did not phase her, as she accepted her nomination certificate on stage with a beautiful glowing smile.
We are truly so proud of Tracey and Charlie and are so grateful to have been a part of their journey. We wish them both the best for the future and cannot wait to see what they accomplish next.
