Customised Employment Participant Jett has secured a role as a gardener, thanks to the collaborative support of the BlueSky Mind Studio and Status teams!
Jett joined BlueSky Mind Studio and Statusโs Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program with goals of building his confidence, establishing a routine and creating a pathway toward greater independence. With a coordinated support network, Team Jett prioritised long-term employment, enabling Jett to build the foundational life skills, confidence, and environmental stability so he could find meaningful long-term employment.
As Jett worked towards achieving his goals, the team enabled him to identify his strengths and interests, leading into skill development and potential career pathways. Jett completed a Barista course, coffee crafting training, RSA, and obtained a managerโs license, building transferable employability skills. Jett also participated in an IEA Empowerment Session further supporting reflection, engagement and self-advocacy.
Throughout the journey, Jett discovered through trial and testing that his true passion was gardening. With support from Team Jett, he is now settling into a new role at Dismantle, a local gardening company, where he is continuing to grow his confidence and independence.

Jett is now settling into employment with a local gardening business, where Team Jett continues to provide post-placement support. This includes ongoing employer education, advocacy and promoting reasonable workplace adjustments to help Jett thrive in his new role.
Following his newfound employment, Jett shared with his Employment Coach that he felt proud to be earning his own income and contributing to the workplace.
Jettโs support network has also noticed significant growth in his maturity, resilience and overall stability. Family members have shared how proud they are to see his confidence grow, with increased belief in his ability to achieve long-term independence and sustainable employment.
